DOLORES A. JOHNSON was born on March 18, 1938, to the late Howard Stoakley and Cleo Nottingham in Cape Charles Va. She departed this life peacefully at home on August 2, 2022.Dolores was a longtime resident of Red Bank NJ and most recently resided in Ocean Twp NJ.
Dolores met the love of her life Lincoln F. Johnson in September 1953. After three years of dating, the two married on October 7, 1956. To that union they were blessed with five children.
Dolores was known as Mom Dee to All & Dee to her friends. She was a phenomenal wife and mother. She worked various jobs with her last employment as a school bus aide for the Red Bank Primary School. She will be missed by her family and friends. Dolores was active in the community, bowling, Eastern Star, and softball with the Redettes where they would raise money to fund the team by frying chicken at BizzarroBar on the weekends.
Dolores is predeceased by her parents, husband Lincoln & son Timothy, five brothers and three sisters.
Left to cherish her memories are her oldest son Ronald Johnson Sr (Jennifer) of Browns Mills NJ, three daughters: twins Wanda L. Pleasant of Las Vegas NV (Phil) Wendy A. Leonard (Kenneth Sr) of Warner Robins GA and Jill R. Johnson of Ocean Twp NJ. Dolores aka “Nanny” was blessed with her grandchildren; Ron Jr, Ryan & Nicole Johnson, Latrese & Phillip Pleasant II, Robert Jr & Wendi Calderon,Jay’la Johnson, Royal & Ahmad Moore,
Na’eem Flemming, (Step-grandchildren) Josh & Jenna Behm, eleven great grandchildren with one due November 2022, brother Alvin Stoakley of VA, brothers & sisters in-laws,daughter in-law Jaymi Mitchell Johnson, adopted son Freddie Boynton as well a host of cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.
